The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to recognize Robin F. Lambert, who recently celebrated 45 years of faithful, dedicated service as a county employee. Lambert was recognized by the board at the Sept. 1, 2022, BCC meeting.
Lambert began her career on Aug. 18, 1977, as a Clerk-Typist in the Comptroller's Office. Through promotions and department changes, she has advanced in her career by taking every opportunity to expand her knowledge base by learning new software programs, accounting techniques, budgeting procedures, purchasing processes, and supervisory and management principles. As she became more accomplished, her duties grew to include the oversight
and management of millions of dollars in Escambia County's Local Option Sales Tax budgets and millions more of disaster
recovery funds, drainage project budgets, and transportation and grant funds.
Currently, Lambert manages the budgets for the Engineering Department, including Construction Management, Engineering administration, and Transportation and Traffic Operations divisions. This also includes projects related to RESTORE, LOST, Florida Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration and FEMA. Additionally, Lambert prepares, administers, or assists with budgets for the Planning and Zoning, DRC, and GIS divisions of the Development Services Department, the Parks and Recreation Department and other county departments as requested.
Throughout her career, Lambert has been recognized as the Escambia County Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year and has received Eagle Awards. Her work ethic, loyalty, honesty, compassion, and decency have made her a dynamic and vital leader in the Engineering department and across Escambia County.
"Robin Lambert has distinguished herself in various roles as a county employee for 45 years, providing excellent customer service to her colleagues, managers and the citizens of Escambia County by her conscientious management of taxpayer funds in her present role as Accounting Manager," said Director of Engineering Joy Blackmon. "Ms. Lambert is truly dedicated to our citizens and it is my pleasure to commend Robin for her continued service to Escambia County."
