"Many youth lose crucial access to nutritional meals during the summer," says Library Services Director Todd Humble. "West Florida Public Libraries is thrilled to partner with Feeding the Gulf Coast to ensure the youth in our community can still have access to meals at no cost."
In addition, WFPL will provide several summer reading challenges
and programs to allow youth to stay engaged with educational activities. "When children aren't in school and miss out on regular classroom learning and access to nutrition, we see a decline in their development," says Humble. "In addition to providing healthy meals, our summer reading programs will help youth stay engaged with educational activities while school is out. West Florida Public Libraries is here to assist in nourishing the body and the mind."
