Portion of Jones Swamp Wetland Preserve Closed After Wildfire

A small wildfire damaged two acres of Jones Swamp Wetland Preserve Friday, April 8. The fire is fully contained, but visitors should avoid use of the trail between Decatur Avenue and Patton Drive for the next several days. Lingering hot spots and smoke may be present.

There are no reported injuries and no damages to private property. A small county footbridge over Jones Creek was destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Florida Forest Service.
