East Burgess Road to Experience Temporary Closures Beginning April 4

East Burgess Road at Lanier Drive and Sanders Street will experience temporary closures beginning Monday, April 4 at 7 a.m. During this time, crews will be performing roadway construction and concrete work. 

Traffic will be detoured in several areas:

  • Sanders Street to Creighton Road;
  • Sanders Street to John Carroll Drive to Creighton Road;
  • Lanier Drive to John Carroll Drive to Sanders Street to Creighton Road;
  • or Lanier Drive to Creighton Road.
The detour is expected to remain in effect for approximately 30 days, and every effort will be made to expedite construction efforts to reopen the road before Wednesday, May 4. If other closures are necessary beyond the anticipated time periods, another notice will be issued.

A formal Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan was submitted and approved by the Escambia County Engineering Department on March 29, 2022. Chris Davis was responsible for the approved MOT plan and has a valid certificate for advanced MOT training.
