County to Host Affordable Housing Homebuyer's Workshop April 2

Published Mar 28, 2022
Escambia County will host an affordable housing homebuyer's workshop Saturday, April 2 at 9 a.m. at the Brownsville Community Center, located at 3200 W Desoto St. This workshop is free and open to the public.

During the workshop, community partners will share more information about Escambia County's new infill housing project, an initiative aimed at providing access for low-income households to secure housing that is decent, safe and affordable. Citizens interested in learning more about the homebuying process will have the chance to speak one-on-one with representatives from each agency as they provide valuable information in becoming a successful homeowner. Read more about the Infill Affordable Housing Project here.

Homeowners interested in applying for infill affordable housing can visit here to see if they qualify. The portal will open for applications on April 6 and all applications must be received by May 17. Applicants will be notified by May 26. In order to be eligible for housing through the project, potential homeowners must be at least 18 years old and have lived or worked in Escambia County for at least one year. Homeowners must also have at least six months of current employment and a least two years at any part-time job.
