Residents Encouraged to Monitor Potential Severe Weather

Published Mar 17, 2022
Severe Weather Alert

Escambia County residents are encouraged to monitor potential severe weather with the enhanced risk of damaging winds, tornadoes and large hail on Friday, March 18.

The National Weather Service in Mobile projects storms to enter Escambia County on Friday around 6 a.m. and continue into late Friday afternoon.

“We are continuing to monitor the development of this storm," said Public Safety Director Eric Gilmore. "As we continue to learn more, we want to encourage residents to remain weather aware.”

With the possibility of localized flooding, one of the most important hurricane preparation steps Escambia County residents can take is to know their evacuation zone - either A, B, C, D, E or none. Look it up at MyEscambia.com/KnowYourZone.
