Join the Escambia County Extension Office on March 24 at 12 p.m. for this month’s Science Hour, held virtually on Facebook. The Facebook Live broadcast will take place on the Escambia County Extension’s Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/escambia.extension/
Hosted in partnership with Geosyntec, Science Hour is an educational series offering free monthly opportunities for the public to explore various topics that impact Northwest Florida. Presentations are held virtually and in-person on a rotating schedule. This month, Beth Fugate and Zach Schang from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Aquatic Preserve Division will join extension agents for a virtual tour of a newly built living shoreline along Blackwater Bay. Fugate and Schang will also discuss the planning, design, construction and impact of using native vegetation to prevent shoreline erosion.
Next month’s Science Hour will take place in-person on April 21 at Goat Lips Chew and Brewhouse, 2811 Copter Road, at 6 p.m. For more information, please contact Rick O'Connor at (850) 475-5230. Follow Escambia Extension on Facebook for more information on upcoming events.
