Escambia County is pleased to recognize Tammy Baker, an Administrative Assistant in the Community Redevelopment Agency division in the Neighborhood and Human Services Department, as the March 2022 Employee of the Month. The board recognized Tammy’s selection during the March 3 Board of County Commissioners Meeting.

Tammy’s career with Escambia County began on March 16, 2021. Initially a temporary employee, she quickly transitioned into a full-time role soon after she joined the county.  In her role, she provides prompt and friendly customer service to residents contacting CRA, maintains financial records for the division, and compiles minutes and backup in preparation for CRA board meetings. She also assists program managers in processing purchase orders and requisitions, maintains inventory and supplies for the division, and even prepares recommendations for both the Escambia County and CRA boards. When a new director's aide recently joined the department, Tammy's helpful, quick-learning and service-oriented personality made her invaluable to assisting with training while completing her regular duties.

In addition to her full-time role with the county, Tammy gladly serves on the Escambia County Disability Awareness Committee and the Escambia County ESF team at the Citizen Information Center during hurricanes and other major disasters. She also gives back to the community by volunteering annually at the United Way Day of Caring and WEAR-TV’s Communities Caring at Christmas toy giveaway.

“Tammy performs her duties with professionalism, class and dignity,” said Clara Long, Director of Neighborhood and Human Services. “She offers a tremendous amount of support to not only the CRA staff, but other staff members in Neighborhood and Human Services as well. It is an honor to award her as the employee of the month."

The board commends and congratulates Tammy on her selection as the March 2022 Employee of the Month.
