In an effort to provide citizens with clear information on neighborhood cleanups, Escambia County's Geographic Informations System (GIS) division, in partnership with Neighborhood and Human Services and Community and Media Relations, has launched the Neighborhood Cleanup Web App. The web app is an interactive map that displays the locations for all 2022 neighborhood cleanups.
Click here to view the 2022 Neighborhood Cleanup Web App.
The map allows citizens to enter their address in the search box to identify the cleanup area they are in. To view more information from a neighborhood cleanup, including final results, simply click into the desired area. Color-coded areas outline the neighborhoods and their scheduled cleanup dates for 2022.
The areas selected for the 2022 neighborhood cleanups are designated as part of either Escambia County's
Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) or the
Safe Neighborhoods program. CRA works to enhance the quality of life throughout designated areas in Escambia County by encouraging private sector reinvestment, promoting economic development and providing public sector enhancements. The Safe Neighborhoods program is a crime prevention initiative designed to help neighborhoods in Escambia County address issues that are causing a decline in physical quality, social quality and general livability.
Neighborhood cleanups allow residents to leave yard debris, household waste and other items at the curb to be disposed of by Escambia County and partnering agencies free of charge. The cleanups are part of the county's ongoing effort to help keep local neighborhoods and communities clean and safe.
