With the holidays coming to a close, it's almost time to dispose of your Christmas tree. Residents wishing to dispose of organic Christmas trees can do through Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) or City of Pensacola Sanitation collections.
ECUA makes the Christmas tree collection easy and safe. When it's time to take down the decorations, place your real tree (free of decorations, tinsel and tree stands) or wreaths out by the curb on your usual collection day for pick-up as part of your regular yard waste collection. ECUA will compost the trees with other yard waste at their Biosolids Composting Facility.
For City of Pensacola Sanitation Services customers, Sanitation will remove trees placed on the curb on your regular trash collection day. Please be sure to remove all decorations, ornaments and any attached tree stands. Do not place Christmas trees in recycling or garbage containers. Customers can also dispose of Christmas trees by taking them to one to the drop-off locations listed below through Jan. 31.
