Escambia County and ECSO Celebrate K-9 Sadie's Birthday with Adoption Event

Published Nov 15, 2021
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office's beloved K-9 Sadie is celebrating her birthday at the Escambia County Department for Animal Welfare, and you're invited! Stop by the shelter, located at 200 W. Fairfield Drive, on Friday, Nov. 19 from 12-4 p.m. to meet Sadie and wish her a happy birthday.

Instead of gifts, Sadie is asking attendees to donate wish list items to the shelter or adopt a furry friend looking for a home. Items from the wish list include K9 Ballistics elevated beds, dog and cat toys, fleece blankets, kitten pate, pet toys, leashes, collars and bleach. Click here to view the shelter's Amazon wish list. Friends of the Escambia County Animal Shelter will also be in attendance, selling merchandise to help raise funds for the shelter.

During the adopt-a-thon event, adoption fees will be reduced to $10 for cats and kittens and $25 for dogs and puppies. A separate $11 licensing fee is required for all Escambia County residents. If you are looking to adopt a dog and are already a dog owner, please bring your dog and a current rabies certificate for a meet and greet so you can leave with your new family member. If you are not looking to adopt but want to bring your dog for the birthday celebration, there will be a grassy play area out front at the shelter. Outside dogs will not be allowed in the facility.

For questions about the event, please call 850-595-3075.

The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare is open Monday-Friday from 12-5 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Like and follow The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare on Facebook to stay up to date on adoptions, events, and more.
