West Florida Public Libraries has relaunched Career Online High School, a free, accredited online private high school diploma and career certification program available through your local public library. This program is open to Escambia County residents who are at least 19 years old and offers scholarships to a limited number of qualified adult students. It is recommended that applicants have attended the ninth grade prior to enrollment. Program applicants must have a public library card in good standing or be willing to apply for a library card.
In addition to earning a high school diploma, career certification is offered in nine different areas including home care, office management, childcare and education, commercial driving and hospitality. Career Online High School is fully online and must be completed in 18 months.
“We are proud to bring this program back to our community,” said Director of Library Services Todd Humble. “Giving our citizens the chance to further their education is at the heart of what we do. Please take advantage of this opportunity to finish your high school diploma on a schedule you control.”
