Pensacola, Fla. – Effective immediately, the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County is issuing a health advisory for the following area in Escambia County, Florida:
The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) reports a rupture within the grounds of the Bayou Marcus Water Reclamation Facility that resulted in the release of untreated sewage into the above affected area.
The sewage release is ongoing, FDOH-Escambia advises against any water-related activities due to the potential for high bacteria levels.
FDOH-Escambia will continue to collaborate with ECUA to monitor the situation until the advisory is rescinded. For more information, contact the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County at 595-6700.
