Detour and Closure Notice: Cody Avenue at E. Johnson Avenue

A portion of Cody Avenue at the E. Johnson Avenue intersection will be closed and detoured from March 2 to March 8.

Construction will consist of all work required, including, but not limited to installation of new sewer force main, new storm drainage pipes and asphalt road patching of the Cody Avenue intersection for the Cody Avenue/E. Johnson Signalization Project.
 
Beginning Tuesday, March 2 at 8 a.m., the intersection of Cody Avenue at E. Johnson Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Traffic will be detoured along E. Johnson Avenue to Whitmire Drive and back down to Olive Road. Local traffic can access Cody Avenue from Olive Road, but will not be permitted to travel any further north than Cedrus Lane.

The roadway closure is expected to remain in effect for approximately seven days and we will make every effort to expedite construction efforts to reopen the road as quickly as possible. If roadway closures are necessary beyond the above-described time periods, another notice will be issued.

A formal Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plan was submitted and approved by the Escambia County Engineering Department. Mike Long, Contractor's Representative with Panhandle Grading & Paving, Inc. is responsible for submittal of the approved MOT Plan and he has a valid certificate for Advanced MOT training.
