Severe Weather Awareness Week

Escambia County’s Emergency Management educates the public in honor of Florida’s Severe Weather Awareness Week, Feb. 1 – 5, on BeReady Escambia social channels.

Severe Weather Awareness Week is an opportunity for Floridians to learn about the various weather hazards that frequently impact the state and how families and businesses can prepare for natural events.

"It's critical to remain vigilant and prepared for severe weather at all times," said Eric Gilmore, Escambia County's Interim Public Safety Director. "Our team has the resources to help you plan ahead.

Each day of the week, Emergency Management will share information on social media focusing on different weather hazards that impact Florida. Monday will focus on lightning. You can find the day-by-day list below:

Monday: Lightning
Tuesday: Rip Currents
Wednesday: Thunderstorms and Tornadoes
Thursday: Hurricanes and Flooding
Friday: Extreme Temperatures and Wildfires
