Escambia County is seeking public input on the West Roberts Road Stormwater Pond Project.
The West Roberts Road Pond will be developed within the Eleven Mile Creek Basin to achieve coastal flood protection and improve water quality benefiting ecological resources. The pond will capture runoff from the existing drainage system and will also capture runoff along West Roberts Road not included in the existing storm system and attenuate, treat and discharge to Eleven Mile Creek.
Escambia County has retained Mott MacDonald of Florida to complete engineering and design services for the West Roberts Road Stormwater Pond Project. Funded through the RESTORE Act Direct Component (Pot 1), the Eleven Mile Creek Basin Regional Stormwater Ponds Project will design a series of regional stormwater ponds in the Eleven Mile Creek Basin, including this project at West Roberts Road.
The project team has completed the required survey, 30%, 60% and 90% design. A project update is provided in a video presentation here.
Comments received at this time will be taken into consideration as the 90% design is advanced to 100% design.
An online public survey is now available through Friday, Nov. 20. Take the public survey for the West Roberts Road Stormwater Pond Project here.
