District 2 Commissioner Doug Underhill and District 3 Commissioner Lumon May, in coordination with the Florida Department of Emergency Management, will host a three-day Community Outreach Center event Friday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 27 to support Forest Creek Apartment residents with finding housing and other community resources after Hurricane Sally.
The FDEM Community Outreach Center has requested the following local, state, and federal agencies to be in attendance:
- Legal Services of North Florida
- Community Action Program Committee, Inc.
- Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida, Inc.
- Department of Economic Opportunity
- Department of Children and Families
- Department of Elder Affairs
- Department of Health – Vital Stats
- Red Cross
- Salvation Army
- Center for Independent Living
- Volunteer Florida
The Outreach Center will be open Friday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, Sept. 27 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Lexington Terrace Community Center at 900 South Old Corry Field Road in Warrington. Free transportation will be provided to and from the Community Center for Forest Creek residents by ECAT.
Forest Creek Apartments at 34 Patton Drive is a 200-unit, privately-owned apartment complex that was impacted by flooding due to Hurricane Sally.
