County, City Encourage Community to Complete 2020 Census By Sept. 30 Deadline

Published Aug 12, 2020

Escambia County and the City of Pensacola are encouraging all residents to complete the 2020 Census to ensure everyone in the community is accurately counted. The deadline to complete your 2020 Census is quickly approaching, with collection closing on Sept. 30, 2020. The 2020 Census will end field data collection and close self-response options on that date to allow time for data processing.

Watch this video of the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners, Mayor Grover Robinson and Pensacola City Council members asking the community to participate in the 2020 Census.

The 2020 Census is your opportunity to shape your community’s future. Do your part. You can still complete the Census at my2020census.gov. The 2020 Census questionnaire will take about 10 minutes to complete.

For the first time, you can choose to complete the census online, by phone or by mail. Find out more about each of these methods below:

The Census is the nation's once-in-a-decade headcount of every person in the United States. It will ask a few simple questions about you and everyone who lived with you on April 1, 2020.

The results of the 2020 Census will help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding flow into communities including Escambia County and the City of Pensacola every year for the next decade. That funding shapes many different aspects of every community throughout the U.S., from highway planning and public transit to educational programs and housing assistance.
