REMINDER: Parking is Not Allowed Along Perdido Key Drive

Published May 18, 2020
Escambia County would like to remind the public that parking along Perdido Key Drive and private property is not allowed. Vehicles that are parked along the right of way may be ticketed or towed. Enforcement shall be pursuant to ch. 94 of the Escambia County Code of Ordinances.

"Beach goers parking in the right of way create an unsafe situation as pedestrians attempt to cross Perdido Key Drive at any location, often stepping out from behind parked cars," said District 2 Commissioner Doug Underhill. "In addition, walking through the dunes damages the fragile ecosystem and may negatively impact protected species that share our beach."

The public should park at the three Perdido Key Access Points with free dedicated parking spaces. If these parking lots are full, the public is encouraged to park at Perdido Key State Park or Johnson Beach. Please check their websites for park hours and fees.
