Bob Sikes Toll Bridge Lane Striping Underway Through Wednesday

Published Mar 24, 2020
Construction crews are currently working on updating the road striping leading up to the Bob Sikes Bridge toll booth. Lane two remains open for traffic use with toll-by-plate, while lanes one, three and four are closed during the restriping. The restriping is expected to be completed tomorrow, Wednesday, March 25.

When the project is complete, the two center lanes will remain for traffic flow, alleviating the need for motorists to change lanes. The far right lane will be used for emergency vehicle response and the far left lane will be available for use if needed.

The new all-electronic tolling system on Bob Sikes Bridge to Pensacola Beach went live on March 20, which was earlier than anticipated to adhere to social distancing for toll booth workers. The toll will remain $1, and cash and coins will no longer be accepted at this location.

All tolls are collected electronically. Motorists will use either SunPass®, another interoperable transponder or be billed utilizing the TOLL-BY-PLATE system. TOLL-BY-PLATE customers will be charged a $1 toll, plus a monthly $2.50 administrative fee and will receive a bill by mail. You may pay cash at SunPass kiosks to replenish and pay TOLL-BY-PLATE invoices.
