Escambia County and District 3 Commissioner Lumon May hosted 600 residents at the third annual Holiday Youth Extravaganza Friday, Dec. 13, featuring singing, dancing, giveaways and more for the community to enjoy. The event took place at 6:30 p.m. at the Brownsville Community Center, located at 3200 W. De Soto St. Escambia County's Holiday Youth Extravaganza was free and open to the public.
District 3 Commissioner Lumon May welcomed guests, “Very rarely do I do anything without understanding that God has blessed me with a mission beyond measure. We do this because we care for children, and we believe that we are doing this for children to seniors and everything in between. We invest in human capital. We may not be able to give everybody a gift; you may not be able to donate money to buy a gift, but everybody has got something to give. Maybe you could pick up the phone and call your aunt if you hadn’t talked to in a long time, maybe call your grandmother. On behalf of Escambia County, I'd like to welcome you to the Third Annual Holiday Youth Extravaganza.”
