Escambia County Inmate Captured

The Escambia County Jail inmate who escaped this morning was found at approximately 2:28 p.m. this afternoon near Big Lagoon. No injuries to the public, law enforcement or the inmate occurred. 

Michael Anthony Perkins escaped Saturday, Aug. 24 at approximately 4:54 a.m. while loading a food truck. Deputies and K-9 teams from Escambia County Corrections and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office searched the area until he was found.

Perkins is being held on charges of burglary, larceny and dealing in stolen property. He has been at the Escambia County Jail since June, 16. Additional charges in light of today's escape are expected.
