WFPL Summer Reading Club Underway

Summer Reading Club 2019 “A Universe of Stories” is underway through Saturday, Aug. 2 at all West Florida Public Libraries locations, with opportunities for adults and youth to participate and win a variety of prizes. 

All participants can log and track their summer reading minutes through a mobile app, Beanstack Tracker; or on their desktop computer through mywfpl.beanstack.org.

Through Beanstack, participants can earn virtual badges for their reading milestones, earn virtual badges for attending certain programs and will automatically be entered in appropriate prize drawings.

Youth, ages 3-17 years old, will keep track of every 15 minutes they read. Prizes begin at 12.5 hours of reading. This year, adults will keep track of every 30 minutes they read and prizes will begin at 25 hours.

Youth prizes include books, rocket backpacks, model rockets, solar chargers, meteorites, wooden spaceship kits and more. Adult prizes include Star Trek models, Space Cadets: Away Missions board game, NASA hats, Da Vinci poster print, Star Wars bookends and more. All participants who read 25 hours will be entered into four grand prizes drawings for a chance to win a home planetarium, telescope signed by William Shatner, a telescope or a meteorite.

Summer Reading Club youth programs include Atlantic Coast Theatre, Pint Size Polkas, Pensacola MESS Hall, The Moogician, Make Annaev, Animal Tales, Didgeridoo Down Under and Mashed Potato Players.

Winners will be notified by Tuesday, Sept. 3.
