Escambia County Firefighters Rescue Resident from House Fire

Escambia County Fire Rescue firefighters and Escambia County EMS crews responded to a residential structure fire in the 3000 block of Miller Street Friday, May 24. ECFR and EMS crews arrived on scene and firefighters quickly located and removed an adult male resident from the blazing, single-wide mobile home fire. Crew members performed CPR and the victim regained circulation before being transported to Baptist Hospital.  

Escambia County Emergency Communications received multiple calls around 9:15 p.m. reporting a structure fire with flames and smoke visible. The first crew arrived on scene at 9:20 p.m. to find flames coming from a mobile home located on the rear of the property, behind the primary residence. The victim was located and removed from the structure at 9:23 p.m. The fire was extinguished at 9:37 p.m. 

The resident was displaced and assistance is being provided by the American Red Cross. Escambia County Emergency Medical Services, Gulf Power and Pensacola Fire Department also assisted at the scene.

Fire officials found no evidence of a working smoke detector. The incident is under investigation by the Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations.
