Enjoy a friendly literary conversation of "The River" by Peter Heller.
Graphic Novel Group
Join Pop Comics owner Harley Orr and Pensacola Library staff in a discussion of a graphic novel decided on during the May meeting. The group meets monthly to discuss graphic novels.
Molino Book Club

Popular Literary Book Club: “Atomic City Girls” by Janet Beard
Join us as we discuss this riveting novel of the everyday people who worked on the Manhattan Project during World War II. “Atomic City Girls” tells the incredible story of the young women of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, who unwittingly played a crucial role in one of the most significant moments in U.S. history.

Read with a Dog!
Come to Pensacola Library to practice reading to Tanner the dog! Kids can bring their own book or borrow one from us. There will be 15-minute slots available to read to Tanner. Slots are first come, first served. Please call 850-436-5038 to reserve your slot. Remember to bring your punch card to read your way to a new book.
Pet Partners: Read With Me™
School-aged children are invited to register for a 15-minute session to pick a book and practice reading with a furry friend. Dogs and handlers are coordinated through Pet Partners and Cherry Point Dog Training Inc. Registration is requested.
Summer Reading Club
Summer Reading Club for Adults and Youth
WFPL has a summer reading program for adults and youth. The program begins Tuesday, May 28 and will run until Saturday, Aug. 3. Register at any WFPL location. Remember, audiobooks are not cheating.

Chess Club
We will help you learn how to play one of the oldest games in the world. Whether you are a brand-new beginner or a master chess player, this is a chance to learn new skills, practice your moves and improve your game in a friendly environment. All playing levels are welcome, including beginners. The library will provide all the chess boards and pieces.
Sewing and Quilting with STEAM for Grownups
Would you like to learn to sew? Come learn at the library. We provide all you need to get started. If you are already an experienced seamstress or quilter, come us for the fun and friendship.

Uke ‘n’ Play
Learn how to play the ukulele! Beginner instruction is from 4-4:30 p.m. We will cover instrument handling, tuning, basic chords and more. Jam with us from 4:30-5:30 p.m. as we share techniques and learn songs together. Bring your own ukulele or borrow one of ours.
Moon Rocks - Summer STEAM
Moon rocks are coming to Pensacola! Now is your chance to see real moon rocks and meteorite samples which we have borrowed from NASA. Come join us for a program of activities where we will explore lunar science and cosmic impacts.

Minecraft, Scrap Mechanic, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Kerbal Space Program, My Pocket Galaxy and Take on Mars, available on laptops and iPads. Pick your adventure and explore new worlds. The library will provide all the technology tools needed. You just need to bring your imagination and ingenuity.
Kids Crafting with STEAM – Pensacola Library
Come be creative and make art and crafts. The library will provide all materials except for the t-shirts for the tie-dyeing event. Thursday, June 13 will be felted planets and stars. Thursday, June 20 will be tie-dyeing. Please bring your own t-shirt for that event. Thursday, June 27 will be rock painting.
Quilt, Stitch and Sew Open Session – Pensacola Library
Come learn to quilt, stitch or sew. Want to learn to crochet? Want to brush up on your sewing skills? Want to spend time together with like-minded people working on your craft project? The library has sewing machines and other tools you can use to produce your creations.
Bricks and Flicks – Pensacola Library
Join us in watching movies each week. Come munch popcorn and enjoy action adventure movies. In our second meeting room, we will have LEGO® bricks for you to build as you watch the movie. Thursday, June 13 will be “Up." Thursday, June 20 will be “Treasure Hunt." Thursday, June 27 will be “Big Hero 6."
Tinkering with Rockets – Molino Branch Library
Come explore the building of rockets each week as we start with the very simplest paper rockets and work our way up to ignition rockets, with each week’s program building on what we have learned. Join us to build and test your rocket. The library will provide all resources necessary, just bring your enthusiasm and curiosity.

Container Gardening with Some Heat
Beth Bolles from our local UF/IFAS Extension Office is coming to teach us how to heat up your container gardening by introducing peppers that are a sure hit for our area. Materials and excitement provided.
Summer Safety with DOH
Summer is the season for relaxing, having fun and spending time with family and friends; however there are special circumstances that can affect your health and safety. During this presentation, we will discuss drowning prevention, water- and heat-related illnesses, prevention and first aid, and skin cancer prevention.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Hunter Safety Course
All hunters born on or after June 1, 1975 and 16 years old are required to take a hunter safety class to get their hunting license. This class requires completion of the FWC’s free online hunter safety course before attending class. Be sure to bring your certificate of completion for the online course to class. Bike Pensacola's Slow Ride at WFPL
Join Bike Pensacola for the most popular bike ride in town: the slow ride! The ride will be about one hour and 10 minutes long, at a casual pace. Nobody will be left behind. Children ages 10-16 must be accompanied by an adult; no kids under 10 on their own bicycle. Cyclists under 16 must wear a helmet by law; ages 16 and up helmets are recommended but are not required by law. We will enjoy a ride escort by officers of the Pensacola Police Department.

Want to try yoga? Ease into it with gentle chair yoga; ideal for seniors and those who have difficulty rising from the floor as well as office workers who sit for hours in a chair. Local patron Sallie Beckes, a 500-hour professional yoga teacher, will guide you through the basics of chair yoga: gentle stretches seated in a chair and also standing postures.
