This public committee meeting will discuss education projects focused on local estuaries.
Science Hour - Aquatic Preserve and Restoration Program
- Thursday, May 16, 6 p.m., 3363 West Park Place, Pensacola
This session of Science Hour will provide an overview of what Northwest Florida Aquatic Preserves does, and will discuss Aquatic Preserve management, restoration and monitoring. The session will also detail the history of restoration in the area. Additional topics will include the function and importance of the Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection.
Lionfish Removal Awareness Day
- Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Harbor Walk, Destin
This free annual event will provide educational booths, kid activities, a lionfish tournament and more.
Florida Master Naturalist Program
- Every Tuesday beginning Tuesday, May 21 through Tuesday, June 25, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Locations will vary.
The Florida Master Naturalist Program will offer a coastal module for this session. Classes will be held on Tuesdays, except for one field trip on a Wednesday. The cost of the program is $275. For more information on how and when to register, visit the UF/IFAS Extension website.
