– Construction activities will begin on County Road 168 over Unnamed Branch, northwest of Century in Escambia County, Wednesday, April 17. The new bridge will consist of two twelve-foot travel lanes with six-foot shoulders and a concrete barrier wall. The project also includes resurfacing the approaches to the bridge, new guardrail, drainage improvements, new pavement markings, and enhanced signage.
During construction, traffic will be shifted to a temporary bridge that will be erected adjacent to the current structure. Motorists are reminded to watch for workers and equipment entering and existing the roadway. obey the posted speed limit, and to travel with caution through the work area. Planned activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
