Science Hour - Urban Coyote Populations
- Thursday, Feb. 7, 6-7 p.m. at the Escambia County Central Office Complex, 3363 West Park Place, Pensacola
Catherine Kennedy, Northwest Regional Wildlife Assistance Biologist from the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission will lead a discussion urban coyote populations. Coyotes are found in all Florida counties. For some residents, encounters with them are unnerving. Though attacks on humans have not been reported, there have been issues with small livestock and pets. This presentation will focus on urban coyote populations and keeping your pets safe.

Seafood Safety Symposium

Guest speakers will present on topics of harmful bacteria, safe purchasing and handling of seafood, contaminates in seafood, and concerns with consuming lionfish. This is presented by the Escambia County Marine Advisory Committee.
Regional Lionfish Workshop
- Tuesday, Feb. 19, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Emerald Coast Conference Center, 1250 Miracle Strip Parkway Southeast, Fort Walton Beach
Day-long workshop with presentations on local lionfish research, commercial harvest, regulations, and education/outreach. Registration cost is $25. Please register for the event at eventbrite.com.
