Chipley– Ashland Avenue at Nine Mile Road in Escambia County will remain closed to traffic through 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 as crews place drainage pipes across the roadway. This work is part of the drainage improvements associated with the Nine Mile Road widening project. Detour signs and variable message boards are in place to alert drivers about the temporary road closure.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to obey the 35-mph speed limit and to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through the work zone. Motorists should also watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
