The Barrancas Avenue Beautification Project is scheduled to begin next week. This project will include installation of irrigation, landscaping and a welcome sign within the medians on Barrancas Avenue, between Palao Place and the Barrancas Avenue Bridge. These improvements will serve as a gateway to the unincorporated area west of Pensacola city limits. The Escambia County Community Redevelopment Agency will provide an estimated $194,388.73 to cover the construction costs.
Construction is expected to take place Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. until March 2019, weather permitting. However, night work may be required at times by the Florida Department of Transportation for maintenance-of-traffic purposes.
Construction closures will be announced before they happen. Access to property will always be provided, but there may be periods when a driveway or an entrance is momentarily blocked as equipment and materials are moved during construction. Every effort will be made by the contractor to minimize inconveniences to area residents.
