Highlighted Events:

Science Hour: Reporting Invasive and Endangered Species, Rick O’Connor, UF/ IFAS Extension & Don Buchanan, FWC

  • Thursday, Oct. 11, 6-7 p.m. at Escambia County Central Office Complex, 3363 West Park Place, Pensacola 

Many county residents encounter wildlife that they feel needs to be reported. In some cases, these are encounters with unusual animals, such as panthers. In other instances, they are nuisance wildlife, such as coyotes or bears. Others still are invasive species, such as lionfish or Cuban tree frogs. In this presentation, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and Florida Sea Grant will provide information on how to correctly identify selected species and how to properly report encounters.

Master Naturalist

  • Every other Tuesday beginning Tuesday, Sept. 18 through Tuesday, Oct. 30, at alternating locations 3740 Stefani Road, Cantonment and 6263 Dogwood Drive, Milton

Florida Master Naturalist Program students will increase their knowledge of Florida's natural systems, of the plants and animals that depend upon those systems, and of the role of humankind in shaping our past, determining our future, and being stewards of the land. Escambia Cares Community Resources Expo

  • Saturday, Oct. 13, 11 a.m., Brownsville Community Center, 3200 W. De Soto St, Pensacola 

Fall into Gardening

  • Saturday, Oct. 20, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., 3730 Stefani Road, Cantonment

Topics include turfgrass management, making kokedama, Fall herbs, and growing bulbs. Registration options:

  • Eventbrite: $37.43 - Register on Eventbrite here for $35.00 plus Eventbrite processing fee using a credit card
  • Mail: $38.00 - Use registration form below and send check for $38 by Oct.10, made out to Escambia County Master Gardeners
  • Late Registration: $40.00 - Register at the door with check for payment (credit card payments on Eventbrite only)
