Notice is hereby given of a public hearing, held by the Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County, Florida at 5:32 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, on the first floor of the Escambia County Governmental Complex, located at 221 Palafox Pl. This hearing affords an opportunity for public comment on the upcoming ECAT route modifications.
The Federal Department of Transportation requires that all agencies receiving federal funding through the Federal Transit Administration provide an opportunity for public comment prior to major service changes. Since some of these changes may be perceived as a service reduction in some of the current service areas, this hearing is being scheduled for the Commissioners to receive public comment prior to approving the changes. The affected Routes are 41 and 42.
- Route 41 will be split into 2 Routes, and will become Route 31 and Route 41.
- Route 31 will provide all-day bi-directional service between ECAT’s downtown Transfer Center and Pensacola State College, via 12th Avenue and Bayou Bolevard, adding service to Target, Winn-Dixie and Sacred Heart Hospital.
- Route 41 will be modified to include Summit Bolevard, and a portion of Scenic Highway.
- Route 42 will be split into 2 Routes, and will become 32 and 52.
- Route 32 will provide all-day bi-directional service between ECAT’s Downtown Transfer Center, and ECAT’s Rosa Parks Transit Center.
- Route 52 will provide all-day bi-directional service between ECAT’s Rosa Parks Transit Center and Cordova Mall via Pensacola State College, with increased frequency during peak hours.
ECAT is asking passengers, community organizations, and all citizens to participate in the upcoming public hearing. If needed, bus transportation will be available to those who attend the Route Modification Public Hearing at the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Feb. 18, 2016. Bus transportation will be provided to the nearest bus stop to the individual’s home. Please see an ECAT staff member immediately before or after following the public hearing for arrangements.
