Summer Reading Program for adults and youth
WFPL has a summer reading program for adults and youth. The program begins Tuesday, May 29 and runs until Saturday, Aug. 4. Register at any WFPL location. Remember, audiobooks are not cheating.

WFPL “The Great American Read” Book Talks
Join us for a discussion of “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. Come in ready to talk about Scout and her adventures or your own contender to win The Great American Read. We will tell you more about The Great American Read and how to vote for your favorite book at the discussion.
Graphic Novel Group
Join Pop Comics owner Harley Orr and Pensacola Library staff in a discussion of a graphic novel decided on during the April meeting. The group meets monthly to discuss graphic novels.
Popular Literary Book Club
Join us as we discuss Hornby’s novel where the Bridgeford choir recruit’s new members and creates a whole new sound. “All Together Now” by Gill Hornby is a poignant and charming novel about community, family, falling in love, and the big rewards of making a small change.
Molino Book Club
Join your friends at the Molino Book Group in June for a lively discussion of “The Half Drowned King” by Linnea Hartsuyker. This is a swashbuckling saga of Vikings and Norway set in the ninth-century.
Book events for youth
Pet Partners: Read With Me™
School-aged children are invited to register for a 15-minute session to pick a book and practice reading with a furry friend. Dogs and handlers are coordinated through Pet Partners and Cherry Point Dog Training, Inc. Registration is requested.

Robot Party – Summer STEAM at Pensacola Library
Join us for West Florida Public Libraries' first Robot Party where we will learn robotics and coding. Each session will feature new different robots from the WFPL collection, including Cubettos, Osmo, and Dash & Dot. This party will continue through July. You will learn to think like a robot in order to code your robot to complete each week’s challenge. Are you ready to Robot Party?
Summer STEAM at Pensacola Library
On Tuesday, June 5, we will be making music with percussions. We will be making percussion instruments you can try out here and take home to play and wind cannons. On Tuesday, June 12, join us for Stop Motion Animation and come explore the world of making digital movies, using objects such as LEGO® bricks and mini figures. We will provide all technology equipment and tools; you just need to bring your imagination. On Tuesday, June 19, we will make music with wind instruments you can try out here and take home to play and even a hose horn. On Tuesday, June 26, join us for our program, Tiny Whoops, Cubelets®, and LEGO®, Oh My! Come build robots, fly hand drones and quadcopters and build something fantastic with LEGO® bricks. Duplo® bricks will be available for the little ones.
Minecraft - Summer STEAM at Pensacola Library
Come get your build on and play Minecraft as hosted by the West Florida Public Libraries. Beginners welcome. We will provide laptops and computers on which to play Minecraft.

Quilt, Stitch and Sew Open Session – Pensacola Library
Come learn to quilt, stitch, or sew. Want to learn to crochet? Want to brush up on your sewing skills? The library has sewing machines and other tools you can use to produce your creations.

Passport Around the World – Pensacola Library
Learn about different cultures and make crafts. Get a new stamp for your “passport” each time you attend. Monday, June 4 we will learn about South Africa and Monday, June 18 we will learn about Brazil.
Westside Loopy Loomers – Westside Branch Library
Learn to loom knit hats, scarves, lap blankets and other items as we give back to the community. Yarn and looms are provided. All ages are welcome.
Rock Painting 101
A local patron will guide you through the fun and creativity of painting rocks for fun from 4:30-6 p.m. Friends of the Southwest Branch Library provide all the supplies for this program.
Art Time at the Library
The Pensacola Museum of Art brings art time to the Pensacola Library. Valerie Peacock, the curator of education at the PMA, will lead an open-ended process-based art activity for children at the library.

Mike Artell, author of “Petite Rouge The Cajun Red Riding Hood," visits the library to share his unique talents including cartooning and music.
Unicorn Dream Catchers

Come to the Genealogy Branch Library for one-on-one sessions on searching for the deceased, introduction to Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest 101. Walk-ins are welcome or you can schedule a private session.
West Florida Genealogical Society - Cemetery Research: It Isn't Just Headstones
Join us for our monthly program and meet the members of the West Florida Genealogical Society. Jan Isosaari is a self-proclaimed taphophile, interested in funerals, gravestone art, epitaphs, and cemeteries. Her presentation will help us understand what grave sites can tell us about our ancestors, beyond their names and dates. You don’t have to be a member to attend. Enjoy coffee and refreshments.

Hunter Safety Class – Molino Branch Library
Get ready for the fall hunting season. Hunters need this class to get their hunting license. This class requires completion of the Florida's free online hunter safety course before attending class.
