Chipley– The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing concerning proposed complete-street conceptual improvements on U.S. 98 (Navy Boulevard) from State Road 295 (New Warrington Road) to the Bayou Chico Bridge Tuesday, May 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. CDT at Brownsville Community Center, 3200 W. De Soto Street, Pensacola. The hearing will begin with an informal open house at 5:30 p.m., followed by a formal presentation and public comment period at 6 p.m.
The intent of this project is to improve roadway, bicycle, pedestrian, transit, business accessibility, and parking. The project is to also encourage economic development, increase the level of service at intersections, land/streetscape, and improve drainage.
This hearing is being held to provide interested persons an opportunity to review the results of the study and to receive input on the proposed alternatives. Design is funded in FY 2018, construction is not funded at this time.
Maps, drawings, and other information will be on display. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments.
