West Florida Public Libraries' Bookmobile service will resume this summer with a brand new vehicle, providing residents with additional opportunities to check out materials from WFPL's collection.
WFPL's former Bookmobile had excessive mechanical damage last week and is no longer in service. The bid for the replacement vehicle closes Friday, March 23. When bidding has ended, the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners will vote for approval. Once approved, it will undergo a transformation to become the new Bookmobile service vehicle.
West Florida Public Libraries will keep Escambia County residents posted on the Bookmobile progress through the website at MyWFPL.com/borrow/bookmobile and on the WFPL Facebook.
Community members who want to be a part of the 2019-2024 Strategic Plan of Escambia County Library Services are invited to attend a meeting on Monday, March 26 from 7-9 p.m. at Tryon Branch Library, 1200 Langley Ave.
