The Escambia County Master Gardener program announces the completion of its 2018 Master Gardener training class. This year's class, which began in October of 2017, has 10 graduates completing their final hours of practicum after receiving 55 hours of academic study.
The Master Gardener training program prepares individuals to join the ranks of the UF/IFAS Extension Escambia County program, to assist with research, program development and community education, under the supervision of Horticultural Agent Beth Bolles. Master Gardeners and Extension faculty and staff are available for horticulture related questions Monday - Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The Escambia County Master Gardener program is a volunteer-staffed, educational outreach of the Escambia County/University of Florida Cooperative Extension Service. The program, specializing in home horticulture, supports local community development through educational presentations, demonstrations and clinics.
The next training class is planned to begin in October 2018, with recruitment information available this coming August. For more information, interested persons can view the Extension website here, or contact the office at 475-5230.
