FDOT Feb. 7, 2018 Escambia County Traffic Alert

Chipley, FL - Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities. 

Escambia County:

  • State Road (S.R. 292) Gulf Beach Highway Bridge Maintenance – North and southbound traffic will encounter lane restrictions on the Theo Baars Bridge from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 and Thursday, Feb. 8 as crews perform routine maintenance activities on the bridge.
  • S.R. 295 (Fairfield Drive) Utility Work– The westbound outside (right) lane between Davis Highway and 9th Avenue will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 and Thursday, Feb. 8 as AT&T performs utility operations. 
  • S.R. 292 (Barrancas Avenue) Utility Work– The westbound outside (right) lane from Seamarge Lane to south of Second Street will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 and Thursday, Feb. 8 as AT&T performs utility operations. 
  • U.S. 98 Road Closure for Festivities- U.S. 98 between A and Tarragona streets will be closed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 for the 2018 Krewe of Lafitte Parade and from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 for the Pensacola Grand Mardi Gras Parade. 

All planned activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.  Motorists are reminded to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the construction area, to watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through the work zone.
