Escambia County Area Transit, part of the county's Mass Transit Department, recently received statewide recognition and won the 2nd Place Marketing Award - Sustaining Campaigns for the “ECAT Track Star” Campaign at the 2017 Florida Public Transportation Association Annual Conference Oct. 24 in West Palm Beach. The awards are given each year to recognize transit systems throughout Florida for their creative and effective marketing campaigns and projects promoting public transportation. FPTA is comprised of all the Florida public transit providers, which include 28 fixed route bus systems, a commuter railroad, a heavy-rail commuter system and two people mover systems.

At the conference, Escambia County’s Transit Division Manager was the guest panel speaker for the “Marketing Mobility Management” segment, which discussed experience and opportunities on marketing the concept of mobility management in transit.
ECAT initiated the technology upgrades to provide options to help riders to more efficiently streamline their commute and optimize their time. ECAT is continually seeking to enhance the customer experience and to improve the service for all of Escambia County.
