Keep it Fresh: School Garden Workshop
8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9
Langley Bell 4-H Auditorium, 3730 Stefani Road
Teachers across the Panhandle are invited to this free workshop. Topics covered during the workshop will include tips and tools on incorporating gardening into the curriculum, selecting the best site for the garden, readiness to start a garden, weed-free gardening, what plants to grow by month, using the garden to build community support, funding the garden and others.
Science Hour - Bats

The fifth of six monthly topics, bats will be the focus of the October Science Hour. Bats and vampires get a lot of bad press around Halloween, but these creatures play an extremely important role in the environment year-round. Learn more about local species of bats, their many benefits to human health, and how to attract them to your yard.
All programs are open to all residents regardless of race, color, sex, religion, national origin or handicap. In compliance with ADA, participants needing special accommodation to attend programs should contact the office at least one week prior to the activity.
