ECFR Hosting Kitchen Fire Demonstration June 30

Published Jun 15, 2017

Escambia County Fire Rescue will host a kitchen fire demonstration Friday, June 30 in an effort to spread the word about the dangers involved with unattended cooking. The demonstration is open to the public and will take place at 11 a.m. behind ECFR Station 16, located at 20 N. Navy Blvd.

More than half of the house fires ECFR responds to have started in the kitchen from food on the stove. In the past 12 months, these fires have caused tremendous damage, displaced families and have caused injuries to residents.

ECFR Fire Prevention will conduct the kitchen fire demonstration, along with the firefighters of Engine 16. The goal is to educate the community about kitchen fires and how best to react to cooking mishaps in order to protect your home and family.
