Nearly 290,000 people visited Pensacola Beach over Memorial Day weekend. Visitor counts for Thursday through Sunday increased 7.5 percent from 2016 (267,402) and 14.6 percent from 2015 (246,750). Visitor counts are calculated by taking the total amount of vehicle trips (Bob Sikes Toll Booth and Navarre/Gulf Islands National Seashore counts) and multiplying that number by three, which is the average number of passengers per vehicle.
