Escambia County will host the first of two registration events for the 2017 Play, Learn, Grow Summer Camp at the Brownsville Community Resource Center Saturday, May 13 from 9 a.m. to noon. The camp is open to children ages 5-12, and students ages 13-15 are also invited to participate in the Teen Leadership Program. Both programs will take place at the Brownsville Community Resource Center, located at 3200 W. DeSoto St. in Pensacola. Registration is required to participate.
The second registration date is Thursday, May 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Registration will take place at the Brownsville Community Resource Center. The registration fee is $35 per session, per family. Camp dates for all age groups are:
- Session one: May 30 - June 30 (Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
- Session two: July 3 - August 4 (Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
Proof of child’s age and Escambia County School District enrollment are required to participate. Acceptable verification documents include:
- Report card
- Progress report from current school year
Activities for the 5-12-year-old age group will focus on recreation, social development and education, while the Teen Leadership Program will include leadership development, communication and public speaking training, job readiness skills training and social development.
