More Upgrades Coming to Old Ensley Park

Construction is underway on a new walking track and basketball court at OId Ensley Park, adding to other upgrades already completed at the park since 2015. The park will remain open during construction, which is expected to take about 90 days. The playground will have safety fencing around it to keep it separated from the construction area. Old Ensley Park is located at 107 W. Detroit Blvd. 

The approximately 1,000-foot asphalt track will circle much of the perimeter of the park, with the new basketball court to be installed within the track area. The $93,000 project is funded by Local Option Sales Tax III, and will include aesthetic enhancements along with the track and basketball court. 

Other recent additions at Old Ensley Park include an all-inclusive, special needs playground installed in 2015, and outdoor fitness equipment, a sand volleyball court and a new park sign installed in 2016. Old Ensley Park also offers a pavilion, picnic tables, playground, swing set and open green space for passive play opportunities.
