Get up to Speed with ECAT and win Prizes

Published Mar 20, 2017

In order to highlight the connection between using public transit and better overall health, Escambia County Area Transit is hosting a community event Thursday, March 23 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. encouraging participants to “get up to speed with ECAT.” People who take public transit have reduced risk for high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity according to research conducted by the American Heart Association. Thursday’s event will give ECAT riders and visitors to the Rosa Parks Terminal a chance to make sure their health is “up to speed” with help from local partners.

Event participants will receive health tips from Baptist Health Care and get their heart rates up in 10-minute exercise classes taught by instructors from Pensacola Fitness. All participants will be entered to win a free year-long membership to Pensacola Fitness and a free bike.

In conjunction with the event, ECAT riders will be asked to complete a brief survey to evaluate their overall satisfaction with existing routes. This survey is available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/F8WC62V.
