Via DeLuna Drive on Pensacola Beach will experience intermittent lane closures and detours in eight locations beginning Monday, Nov. 28 to make repairs to the stormwater system. The first lane closures will occur at 5 Via DeLuna Dune Drive, followed by 14 Via DeLuna, 16 Via DeLuna, 106 Via DeLuna, 220 Via DeLuna, 400 Via DeLuna, 500 Via DeLuna, and lastly 1002 Via DeLuna. Each construction location is expected to last approximately one week. The total project will take approximately 120 days to complete, and in all cases the lane shifts will remain in place until repairs at each crossing are complete.
During construction, the roadway will be reduced from four lanes, two-way traffic to two lane, two-way traffic while removal and replacement of existing drainage pipes takes place. Signage will be in place. If other lane or roadway closures are necessary beyond the anticipated time period, another notice will be sent.
