Escambia County will be teaming up with several agencies and nonprofit organizations to host the second Escambia Cares Community Resource Expo, a free event designed to provide a one-stop shop for family resources and services. The expo will take place Saturday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at C.A. Weis Elementary School, 2701 N. Q St.
This year’s expo will have a hurricane preparedness theme in partnership with the Escambia County Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies, or BRACE, providing attendees with valuable, life-saving information about how to be better equipped for hurricanes and other emergencies. The Escambia Cares Community Resource Expo will also feature free food, music, activities and information about a variety of services available through the county and community organizations. Featured services include those related to neighborhood safety, housing programs, employment opportunities and more. The 2015 Escambia Cares Community Resource Expo drew more than 250 attendees, with over 40 community partners participating.
