Sections of East Olive Road will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, Aug. 15. The project was originally scheduled to begin this week but was delayed due to weather. Intermittent detours and closures will occur between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. The road closures are part of a drainage enhancement project.
Road closures and traffic detours are planned as follows:
Monday, Aug. 15
East Olive Road between Kipling Street and Caminitti Lane will be closed; the detour will consist of taking Kipling Street to Desert Street to Charter Oaks Drive to East Olive Road and Charter Oaks Drive to Desert Oak Drive to Desert Street to Kipling Street to East Olive Road.
Tuesday, Aug. 16
Chapparel Dr at East Olive Road will be closed; the detour will consist of Lode Star Drive to Parazine Street to Caminitti Lane to East Olive Road and Caminitti Lane to Parazine Street to Lode Star Drive to East Olive Road.
Wednesday, Aug. 17
Caminitti Lane will be closed to East Johnson Avenue and Parazine Street; the detour will consist of Parazine Street to Caminitti Lane to East Johnson Avenue to Kipling Street.
Thursday, Aug 18
East Olive Road will be closed between Kipling Street and Caminitti Lane; the detour will consist of Caminitti Lane to East Johnson Avenue to Kipling Street and Kipling Street to East Johnson Avenue to Caminitti Lane.
Friday, Aug. 19
Kipling Street at East Olive Road will be closed; the detour will consist of Caminitti Lane to East Johnson Avenue to Carl Dean Street to East Olive Road and Carl Dean Street to East Johnson Avenue to Caminitti Lane to East Olive Road.
Monday, Aug. 22
East Olive Road will be closed between Carl Dean Street and Kipling Street; the detour will consist of Kipling Street to East Johnson Avenue to Carl Dean Street and Carl Dean Street to East Johnson Avenue to Caminitti Lane.
Roadway closures are expected to remain in effect for approximately one week. Every effort to expedite construction efforts to reopen the roads by Monday, Aug. 22 will be made. If other roadway closures are necessary beyond the anticipated time period, another notice will be sent.
