Free After School Program Starts Aug. 15 at Ebonwood Community Center

Escambia County is offering a free after school program for youth ages 5-18 at Ebonwood Community Center starting Monday, Aug. 15, with a wide range of academic and recreational activities throughout the school year. "The Youth Connection" program provides youth the opportunity to participate in educational, cultural, sports and community enrichment programs, to build confidence and self-esteem, and it encourages youth to say no to gangs, drugs and violence and "yes" to hope, learning and life.

Activities include:
• Academic enrichment 
• Homework help and tutoring
• Arts and crafts
• Sports, fitness and games
• Educational programs  
• Nutritional programs
• Drama and cultural activities 
• Guest speakers
• Special events   
• Supervised computer use
• Team-building activities 
• Job readiness training
• Leadership skills building 
• And more!

Program details:
When: Mondays-Fridays, 2:30-5:30 p.m. 
Monday, Aug. 15, 2016 through Friday, May 26, 2017
Where: 
Ebonwood Community Center, 3511 W. Scott St., Pensacola
Cost: FREE
Registration: Ebonwood Community Center, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
