Sprout Educational Week Planned

West Florida Public Libraries is offering classes on our new Hewlett-Packard 3-D Sprout computers the week of July 25 at the Pensacola Library, 239 N. Spring St. The library’s latest technology offering can scan and create 3-D models, measure dimensions of objects, design sculptures and other art projects and expand children’s educational experiences. Classes include:

  • Tuesday, July 26 – Paint with Sprout from 10:30 a.m. to noon and from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 27 – Learn to Sculpt with Sprout from 10:30 a.m. to noon and from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 28 – Origami with Sprout from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m.

Open lab time is also available in the afternoons, July 25- 29 from 1 to 6 p.m., for anyone who wants to start learning on the new programs without the structure of a class.

The Sprout computers were purchased with the help of a grant from the Panhandle Library Access Network and are currently only available at the Pensacola Library. However, they will be available at all West Florida Public Libraries in the near future. They are available to patrons of all ages.
