Donate Blood, get Library Fees Waived

Published Jun 20, 2016

Escambia County’s West Florida Public Libraries is providing an incentive for library patrons to donate blood and receive a waiving of up to $50 in library fines in exchange for their donation. The first blood drive will be Tuesday, June 28 at 4 p.m. at the Pensacola Library, located at 239 N. Spring St. WFPL will be partnering with OneBlood.org to host blood drives at each of the seven library locations throughout the next year.

This incentive offer only applies to waiving library fines, not replacement charges for lost materials. If a patron wishes to donate his or her $50 credit to another individual or family member, WFPL will honor this request, but patrons will not be allowed to accumulate credit on their account.

Blood donors will also be offered the following bonuses for their participation:

  • A free T-shirt from Oneblood.org
  • A special edition library card
